Ate my first puffball...fried in butter with seasoning. It was a bit mushy...maybe didn't fry it hot enough or long enough. BUT...I dehydrated the rest of it in 1/2 thick chunks. How do you store them..and how do you prepare them once dehydrated?
We saw a few in the field behind the house last time we were down in Ohio. I enjoy mushrooms but I was reluctant to pluck those as I don't know enough about them or when to pick.
