Guy I know has a 2008 King Quad 400 in camo with 1600 miles. Auto and winch. He offered it to me for $2500.

Mine was a 400. It got me everywhere I needed to go. The infamous Creek Trail as well. Only thing I noticed is the obvious. I went from the to the brute force 750 and the power difference was unreal.
With that said, I never had an issue with my king quad and only sold it because I actually made money selling it and buying the older brute force.

If the guy you know took good care of this machine, and the tires are good, and it runs good........no brainer.
And as far as it being a 400 - I'm a big boy like you, and my 300 got me everywhere I needed to go this last weekend, it kept up with the big boys.
For $2500, you might be getting not just a good deal, but a helluva deal.

Or not...what do I know? Fuc k that, buy it now.
I remember back when I was looking 2500 would not get very much, and definitely not a winch. If it's a sound machine (not a lemon) snap it up.

I started making some phone calls yesterday about buying one. Its going to be a long slow process I can tell you that. Doing as much research as possible.

Honda. I've ridden them all my life and IMO, there's never been a better quad made. Size it appropriately for what you want to do and never look back.

you know what I ride and it's like anything else. Only buy used if you know the operator. An old man may be a safe risk but a kid that has access to the machine probably has abused the thing, many times in ways that won't be easy to spot such as motor, suspension or wheel bearings.
As far as plows go; I have a Moose plow I use in the winter and would buy another. I'll take plowing on a 4 wheeler over a big tractor any day.
