Cancelled for temps? Surely they aren't cancelling early because they may or may not get snow?

Dude they canceled school here today. Currently 29 with a high of 39 today.

To be farrrr. Nick brought up something I forgot about from my youth. A lot of the schools here don't have adequate heating, just like the school where we were in Ohio didn't have AC.

Take that Covid money and update them then. Can’t shut down places of business because of cold temps so why shut down schools?

They had our girls on a 2 hour delay last night before bed, due to cold temps. Snowed 1" MAYBE overnight, wife texted me as I pulled out the drive that they had cancelled school. My reply: "Work didn't close, don't care...."

Ha. Most businesses here were closed until noon. Then they had to stand guard so the goats wouldn't get in.

Lvl 2 up here right now, a beautiful winter wonderland. Boys only had school 1 day this week, headed for the sledding hill today or sunday!

Getting some nice squalls off the lake. Gonna be another 1-2" in next 30-40mins right now. Total for us will be 6-8", wind kicked up mid-day. Love it!

We got at least 6” here in Jersey….light fluffy stuff. Going to have windchills in single digits tomorrow then it warms up mid week starting Tuesday. The snow is light enough to use a snowblower to move it.

We have had snow 10 of the last 12 days. Not a ton. Most of them were salt only events. Some were just a scattered coating. All I know is that I could use some sleep. I slept two hours last night and I'm back out. In an hour I'm calling everyone in for another full clean up. Not complaining as we needed the snow revenue. Next week looks like March weather. When your wife and kids look at you and tell you how rough and tired you look. . . You just don't look in the mirror. Just keep going.
