It's weird watching you 75# dogs walk on top of 5" of snow and only leave footprints like it was a skim of mud.
Yes! A couple of years ago we had something similar at Christmas. Snow with a glassing of freezing rain/sleet followed by a light dusting of snow. The spiderweb patterns in the sheet of ice as the dogs ran across it was really neat to see.

Be glad you’re not up there!

We got about 7” of snow and an inch of ice on top. Just cleared the back deck with a shovel….I'm not a young man anymore! I waited until the freezing rain stopped because we’re supposed to stay below freezing for the next 10 days and I didn’t want an inch of ice on the deck. Tomorrow I’ll break out the Kabota and do the driveway. I’ll take pics tomorrow.

The last winter we had like this with prolonged freeze(35 days in a row below 32)with good snowfall amounts , it turned around and reached 80 degrees in March. We had a crazy good walleye spawn and morel mushrooms were abundant, they were coming up in southern Michigan in March that season......when is spring going to spring this year, March or June?

Still not sure how many inches we got but sure felt like an old fashioned prison beating. I'd say 6-8" was down, plowed twice, awaiting final clean up when it dropped another 2-3" over a few hours. That was Mother Nature giving us a noogie in a headlock. She stopped so we could catch our breath and make us think she was going to let us go, but had to get another noogie in. 😵‍💫

My neck of the woods NW Pa got about 14" plus the zero temps, but we are probably counting our blessings compared to places like Ole Miss...
Due to the extreme cold it was like moving 14" of fluffy down feathers. I am down to the cement in my driveway already. Now I got to roof rake as there is a pile up there and I don't want the continued melt and reloading that ends up icing the gutters till they tear off.

Again, we are very fortunate and our thoughts and prayers are with those south of us who are crushed and for the guys like @giles who are not at home cleaning their own mess up because they are hundreds of miles away helping others-ya he's getting a paycheck for it, but at any hourly rate it ain't worth it!

Just finished moving snow/ice from my driveway, 3 neighbors driveways, 4 different mailboxes that the snow plow buried and cleaned out the front yard so the dogs could get around easier. 2” of ice on top of fluffy snow is no joke. The Kabota couldn’t get good traction so I had to take baby steps. My joints are killing me from all of the pedal work going forward and back. Neighbors were happy that I saved them some hard work getting 3’ of snow and ice left by the snowplows. Good neighbor policy in effect!😊

Frick, we got 20mph winds steady tonight with 40-45mph wind guests tonight at least what I'm hearing into tomorrow morning. It will seem like all the plowing has been for nothing, good luck Phil be safe its going to get shitty tonight.
