Random weather thread

Buddy used to be stationed at Plattsburgh NY and follows news from up there from time to time, a balmy -17 up there this morning.

Picked up 24" in 36 hours...
Now a possible 6 TO 10 inches additional from fri-sat AM.

24’!!! Was it an avalanche?

Coldest I ever been out in was out on the flight line -54*. We had a 5 minute rule that night. Couldn’t even get the temp gauge on the truck to budge.

Aaaa. The ol Lake Effect snow machine. Been here most of my life so you get use to it.
Still rather deal with this than earth quakes out west or hurricanes in the south if I had to pick one of the 3.

Having dealt with tropical storms and hurricanes for 45 years.. I would rather deal with tropical storms and hurricanes than this freezing weather

O shit. Fixed it... Sorry.

Lol, not a big deal. A few years back Valdez got something crazy, like 18 feet in 24 hours. My wife’s cousin was posting pictures of him climbing out the upstairs window to get outside. So I was convinced you weren’t stretching any truth, lol.

Most I’ve ever seen was 3’ overnight. Only time I’ve ever seen anchorage school district cancel for snow.

Joe has made comments before about drinking beer on the porch when a good one happens. I ain’t going out and drinking beer on the porch today, promise. Beer was slush yesterday at BC’s, that’s a good sign to keep your stupid ass inside, just sayin...

Erie Pa recorded 54” the other day.
Yep. My buddy is a feeder driver for UPS. They asked if anyone wanted the Erie route. He hadn't checked their weather. Figured he would mix it up and snag a different route for the day. He called me from the meet up point to swap trailers with the Syracuse driver. Lot of Mfers dropping. He was pissed haha
