Your going to love your new hobby! About a hour after the mailman dropped off the new dies for the 10mm I was cranking them out lol!
Looking good buddy. Hopefully I'll get mine setup tomorrow and make up a few loads for the .223 to test out. This weather needs to make up it's mind so I can get some range time.
I here ya on the weather! My reloader is set up out in the shed and it was cold lol. Come on summer!!!
I was debating about putting in the shed or my basement. I know it's better to have it in a detached building but worry about humidity with it in the shed. Do you pack your powder in and out each time?
I keep my powder in one of those cheap plastic storage containers out in the shed with the rest of the stuff. I keep my primers in a storage cabinet out there. Never had a problem with moisture with that stuff but did have to clean some light rust off my powder measure today. If it gets warm quick the press and measure sweat. I just spray it all down with rem-oil and wipe it off. Felt good to do some loading even though I froze my ass off lol
Actually an old refrigerator is great for storing powder (unplugged of course) as long as the door seals are good...
Hmmm. Sounds like I will be setting up in the shed and just make sure I have a good storage and be good to go. Thanks for the info GT and J.
Yeah, it was snowing here this morning and I have no heat source in the shed yet so I have not been out there much tinkering around with anything lol.

I think what your friend was talking about was neck sizing or bumping the shoulder vs full length sizing. In a bolt gun you can get by with ammo that is snug in the chamber and might get better accuracy. In a Semi-auto (or lever or pump) the rounds need to chamber easily. Or he might have been referring to small base sizing dies.
I know he said something about the die changing the shoulder.
I knew there was a difference in what type of bullet would feed better in semi-auto, lever action, and pump guns then a regular bolt action. I also knew that the bolt action I could go a little longer overall length then I could a semi-auto. I only knew the overall length had to be shorter on the semi-auto, pump, and lever action just because of the bullet fitting in the magazines and feeding into the chamber without catching.
To be real honest with you, I haven't even set it up yet. It has been crazy around here the last few weeks. I was to start back to work after being laid off. The company was going to send somebody to pick me up and they never showed on the day they set. I turned around and got a new job the same day and am in the final push getting everything done for that position. Just waiting on the background to clear now. Last Tuesday I about broke a couple toes on my left foot so I have been gimping along this last week and add to that my son decided to share his cold with me lmao. I'm a mess right now and this up and down crazy Ohio weather isn't helping any lol.
THIS WEEKEND I WILL HAVE IT SET UP EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!!!!

Reloaded some 10mm this weekend in the freezing shed lol. Really liking this 10mm stuff!

Going to get rolling here Wednesday on my .223 loads. Might have to check with Frank and see if he has another 4 hole turret and a powder feeder. Checked on midway but they are in backorder. Need to add the wife's .380 to the reloading schedule lol.

Found out I need to tap the shell on the bench after cleaning the primer pocket and keep an eye out for debris in the primer holder. Had a small brass shaving fall in there before I placed the new primer. When setting the new primer that tiny brass shaving dented the primer. Glad it didn't go off. Got the air hose to make sure this doesn't happen again.
