Ric's getting way TOO friendly with that target. Makes me uncomfortable looking at the pic. It should probably be posted in the NSFW thread!
YKW!
Good shooting buddy. You and Karissa are shooting lights out this year. Now you just need to brush up on your complaining so another set of 160" deer show up. Just sayin'!
You wanna hear me whine about having the worse Spring/summer/early fall TC seasons ever!!!!! Sayin I'm disappointed would be a gross understatement!!! LMAO
HOPE THAT BITCHING BRINGS US SOME LUCK THIS SEASON.....:smiley_coolpeace:
One of the most successful turkey hunters I know tells me every year that he is having the worst season of his life! Haha. Yet he kills two birds every season and calls in a pile of them for others.

Figured I better update since I had my first sit last night and get my journal stats started. Plus lots of prep work done before last nights hunt.
I hunted from 5 till to dark to see pin and target(7:45ish) for my first 2.75 hours of hunting this year. Actually hunted from a highwall between a popular creek crossing and a nice stretch of oaks along the creek where acorns are plentiful about 100 yards down stream. Where I'm located is the highest point on the highwall(20 feet high or so) overlooking the creek below where deer like to travel. The crossing is about 50 yards upstream but deer like to walk along the creek drinking and browsing too! The closest shot would be 20 and furthest 50 but wind conditions, shot angle and deer temperament would absolutely perfect or ideal before I'd attempt the latter. Anywho, it's a great ground setup if the wind is coming from the SW - W - NW direction. Above and behind me to the E it is the pinch I was hunting where I killed Character in 2013 but that's the chance I'll have to take while hunting this particular spot.
I also had a chance to wash, hang dry and smoke all of our hunting clothes and equipment this past weekend as well and shot my Axis tipped with BH's yesterday before heading out last night. I have to say, I'm very impressed in how well Broken Rack Archery has my Mathews Drenalin LD bow tuned and these Axis arrows are flying great and deadon no matter what I have on the end. I replaced my field points and put a used practice ST head on 4 different arrows and hit within an inch of where my FP's were hitting at both 20 and 30 yards! I will shoot from 40 and 50 tonight and expect the same results. For shits and grins I still have a few 100 grain Rages laying around and used the practice head and it shot just as true as the ST heads. It really helps your confidence when you have your bow tuned to perfection! I just have to do my job when it's time and let the bow and arrow do its job.
Now for some pics
Cheech and Chongin our blind filled with clothes
The view from my hunt last night looking out towards the creek crossing to the S. They cross about 50 yards out but more than likely they also walk along the creek towards me as well.
Straight out in front of me to the W. Anywhere tho the left and right of the tree are shots 20-35 yards. Plus I'm 20-23 feet higher in elevation.
Here are a few more pics from this set and from my 40-60 yards broad head shootin tonight. Lol
Here's a view to the right looking down stream. It's got more concealment and less shooting opportunities but I have plenty of holes to see or shoot through.
This is the steep drainage dropping down into the creek that I pruned out and climb up to get to this highwall
Tonight I wanted to shoot a couple arrows at each of the distances 40-50 and 60 yards. I was stoked just how well the bow performed! The white circle is 5" BTW.
Here's 40 with the ST
Here's 50 after one shot and raising my 50 pin about 1/64".
Here I'm standing behind my truck ready to shoot an arrow at 60 yards with same ST tipped arrow
Here's the result
Also I just realized something tonight. This is the first time I had a bow that when looking down a nocked arrow and lining it up with the string that the site pin tips were lined up perfectly behind the string as you see in this pic.
I'm shooting 62 pounds and pushing a 409 grain arrow so my pins aren't that impressively close by any means but that why I have a range finder, right?!? Lol
