Pulled cards over the weekend. The big bucks are getting shy but still have quite a few younger bucks coming to the mineral. Bucks that Gunner will be more than happy with. That's priority #1.
I have a question for you all, I have a weeks vacation scheduled for the week of 11/9 but also have two vacation days to use before the end of the year. I'm thinking about taking the Thursday and Friday before Halloween. What do you all think? Is that a good choice for those two days or would you all use them somewhere else?

I'd take them on those two days before Halloween. I also have my week vacation the same time as you.
Last few days of October it seems like there is a switch flipped. If you have any spots with scrapes used annually, I would be hunting them. It is hunting. Anything can happen. But. . . it sure seems like the big boys start scent checking and hitting scrapes that last week in October. Maybe an early doe in estrous gets them fired up. Maybe they just know. Maybe i have just seen some unusual behavior (although I don't think it is highly unusual). I really like the last week in October up to Nov 10. Some nights are dead. Other nights in this time period are pure magic. I am sure you have seen some days like this.

I'd have to say Nov 2nd and 3rd considering your if gonna be off the 31st and Sun the 1st. That'd be a nice 4 day weekend hunt!

Pull the card on the one farm where the camera shy big boys have been passing through and nothing impressive this time. Small bucks and I did get a pic of my first ever bobcat. Gonna pull the card from the other farm this weekend. Probably Sunday from the looks of the weather forecast. I will be there hanging a couple stands for Gunner and I that won't get hunted out of until he gets here the second week of November.
