I belong to this club for their 300 yard rifle range and 3D archery course. It's about 35 minutes north of where I live. They also have a nice club house with a huge meeting room, restrooms, running water, etc. along with a decent kitchen where they serve meals when you're done with the 3D shoot.

Anyone else going to this event?

Planned on it earlier this year, camping and all. My buddy ended up backing out and I reallocated my vacation time lol.

My neighbor and I shot the African Safari side of the R 100, this morning and enjoyed it.
The targets were open from all the stakes, there were 2 novelty shoots, door prizes, lots of R100 gear and some very interesting African game animals as well a few dinosaurs. The final scores won't be posted until the end of the shooting event tomorrow, but when I left I was in 11th place and my neighbor (standing by the triceratops & giraffe) was in 4th place.

Nope. I wanted to take my recurve, but I don't feel comfortable shooting it past 20 yards. I'm getting there, but I need to be consistent at shooting out to 25 yards for 3D competitions. I shot my Elite Ritual 30 and enjoyed it. It's the same compound bow that I hunted with last fall.
* As far as my Ravin crossbow goes, unless I get injured to where I can't shoot my compound, recurve or longbow, it will stay on top of the gun safe. I don't care for hunting with it. It's super accurate, but for me it's totally uneventful to kill a deer with it. I don't get anywhere near the same satisfaction of hunting with a crossbow, as I do with any other hand drawn type bow.
