My wife and I agree we need some sort of solution for in-home exercise as relying solely on gym memberships and doing stuff outside, doesn't suit our schedules that well. Neither of us like treadmills, we broke our elliptical, she doesn't like free weights or stair-steppers, and we both agree that a rowing machine makes sense when all the above is factored in. We have sufficient space for one as well.

Anyone here own a NordiTrack or another brand of rowing machine they'd recommend? Or one to sell? 😂

I cannot comment on rowing machines.

I can tell you - I bought my wife a Peleton (far before COVID 19). I figured I would never use it, boy I was wrong. As life continues to get busier and I just cannot get to a gym before 515-530am some days, it is great to be able to hop on that darn thing! The workout will just about kill a man.

They are not cheap, but no workout equipment really is anymore. I also think they have a few more affordable competitors in the marketplace now.

So if you have any thoughts on a bike, that is my 2 cents.

The bike is what I was referring to. The new bowflex actually tilts and stuff. Seems like the real deal for in home workouts. I could even see myself on one. Riding a bike is fun and a great workout, but riding back to the vehicle sucks. This takes that out of it.

Have you looked at a Total Gym? We have both the rower and a Total Gym. Actually have an older model for sale that is in great shape because we got a newer model for taller people.

I've only heard great comments about the Peloton bikes. But I just can't get over the up front cost and long term costs of owning one. It seems crazy. I would love to own one, but I'd have a hard time justifying it. That being said, I don't know if a rowing machine is a great approach either. They are an awesome total-body exercise machine... But I just can't imagine that I would personally stay interested in one for very long. I think I'd get bored with it pretty quickly. That's where the Peloton system really shines. The interaction with trainers and peers, and the varying programs, that would KEEP you interested. And let's face it, interest and motivation is what's going to keep you on it regularly. There's certainly a lot of value in that aspect of the Peloton.

Yep - my wife and I both like it. Also, I like to run in the spring and summer. This past summer I was running 15-20 miles a week. Not a ton by runners standards but for a natural chubby guy, it was good for me. However, my knees began to kill me (I tore my ACL playing football in HS). That Peleton is so easy on the knees and joints, it was great!!

Although the monthly fee is costly, if 2 people are using it, you like it, etc. It really has been a great piece of equipment! I will say we had a few minor issues when we first bought it, and the service they provided was incredible as well.

I just wish more buddies had one so I could link up and "compete" against each other.

I just ordered a Rogue Echo wind bike, their great for Crossfit and HIIT workouts and can be used for just a 30 minute cadio workout. Im just looking for something that is Low Impact and high intensity...
Rogue has a rowing machine that gets great reviews. Not real sure about availability tho.

Regardless of what you put your $ in, one day they will become a clothes hanger...
Yup.... Just another gimmick gotta have... Last time I looked we are outdoorsman... Probably get a better workout daily than most at a gym... Plus plenty of fresh air... When baiting, putting up stands etc. LEAVE THE QUAD HOME... Hump it in... Nothing beats good old manual labor for staying in shape...

My uncle bought a "Wahoo". He has gotten into bicycling. It is similar to Peleton but for bikes. Virtual bike riding in his basement. Biking thru Europe, NYC, etc. Zwift is the app he uses with it. Said it gets great reviews in the biking community at a reduced price. That may only apply to those who enjoy biking. @xbowguy may want to check it out?

I do more of that than even the "average" outdoorsman. I walked 2.5 miles on Monday and drug 150#s of dead weight in a sled around my waist for 200 yards. I've got this covered. So does my wife who is a nurse on her feet 50 hours a week. But we would like to have more than just our daily lives. It's not like buying a piece of exercise equipment means we stop doing that.

Come walk our farm with me some day. It'll be fun. I promise :ROFLMAO:

Add rather be poked in the eye with a stick then do anymore basement bicycling.... Actually pretty boring. Now if the video was through a nudist colony or something that may make it interesting...
