What model are you using brancher? I have a buddy that switched to a climbing harness a few years ago and he loves it.

Black Diamond vario speed harness. Comes in at just under 1lb. I am no expert though and am sure there are better ones out there. It came highly recommended from other hunters with similar needs as myself. This harness is also especially helpful for hanging stands. I use a lot of hang ons with screw in steps, and when you get to the top of your steps you can tighten your safety rope around the tree, with one foot on the last step, and be attached safely using your harness with both hands free to work on securing the stand.

Wow I figured that climbing harness would be expensive, it's under $50. Might have to try one of those next year.
