You guys that use hang ons might want look at using the half line mobile safety system . It gives you a way to the ground in case you fall off your stand and can't climb back on or if you had a kick out on your ladder or sticks

On the linemans rope, this little gem saves countless time when you need to adjust the length, go around a limb etc... I've combined it with the the HSS Linemans system and will not go up to do work/maintenance without it. It connects to the carabiner on the dominant arm side D-Ring with tag end. Other end of the linemans lanyard is on the opposite carabiner and D ring.

I use that with my climber bottom.

Prolly time to add something about 4 wheelers... @steveOh got pretty lucky and so did I yesterday.

I picked up a quad off @Big H yesterday. He was in the middle of talking about how he wants to get his dad a trailer. Worried to all hell he was gonna fall off the back of the truck. And I went down. @Redneckfucker was there to see it too. Happened fast. Faster than anyone could react. Somehow I didn't break anything besides some skin. I'll try and grab pics of the style ramps I use. Open rung, tri fold ramp. Legs went through the rungs as I kept going. Pure luck I didn't hyperextend my knee or break a leg, hand or arm.

A good sign that you are either getting old or shit is bad is when no one laughs. No one laughed 🤣

I even strapped the ramp to the hitch. Because we all have a story about kicking the ramps out... We all know it's the things we have done 1,000+ times that get us. I will jump off the side of the truck every time from now on. One step is all it took for things go bad. One little slip and I could be sitting in the unemployment line. Simple task of loading a 4 wheeler in a truck.

Basically, this style

Yeah, there was no laughing. I really thought you broke something! And it happened so fast even with my cat like reflexes, I couldn’t grab you and at least slow down your fall. And BTW, jumping off the tailgate is not a good idea either. You should carry a little step ladder with you maybe? 🤔 Or a rope so you can rappel down the ramp.

Don’t the straps/chains attach too the bumper?
Mine did when I had a quad. Kept it from kicking out.
Glad you’re ok and it wasn’t any worse.

Shit can go to hell quick, glad your OK
Yeah. It happened fast. I really can't complain about the outcome. Kneeling down to gut deer tomorrow is gonna suck. The bruising still hasn't reached the surface of the skin, but it's changing color under the skin. Oh well, might save someone else from making the same mistake. I got lucky.

Damn, misread the post.
It was the first step off the tailgate. Which is about mid body height on me. Momentum had my upper body still moving away from the truck. Great way to snap a femur. Brain worked fast and I was able to basically save myself by letting the fall happen. With the help of Michael and Ron I got out of the rungs. I would've likely injured myself more without their help.
