Having a debate with my friend about deer he shot this year out in Illinois... In 2018 he passed on the first deer pictured... Note it's got alot of junk on brow tines and had crab claws at the end of main beams... Second deer pictured in jet sled was this year's deer... Note no crab claws and brow tines have less junk... This year's deer was slightly over 160... I think they are different deer... What do you think???

I say no. First, 2nd buck is a short g2 buck compared to g3s. That tends to be there year after year. Then theres the other points hes lost and he doesnt look to be on the decline.

I agree.. Different deer.. Back in March we found one of his sheds, however with 10 cameras running on farm we never got a pic... We did have pics of buck he shot.... He insists it's same buck...

Different. I’ve never seen both brows change direction in growth. First deer they look straight up. Second deer they seem to point out slightly.

I’ve seen deer lose junk from one year to the next. It could very well be the same deer. The frame does look to be shaped similarly. Hard to really know for sure.
He says the shape is exactly the same, as the shed fits perfectly inside this year's deer... 2019's deer was hanging out in the same corner of the farm as 2018's deer... So who knows...

I'd say different. Main beams on the dead buck sweep more inward at the tips as well. Never can tell for sure. They can surprise us and change a lot.
