Sandhill cranes

I've been seeing Sandhill Crane "V' flocks flying overhead the last 3 years. I believe they are all heading towards a large gravel pit about 10 due South of here. Really neat to see and hear them call out as they fly over.

Noticed a few flocks up this way this year. They sound pretty cool when flying over.

I see quite a few when fishing up north, don't notice them around home, but would like to.

I've only ever seen em up near Alpena Michigan when I go up there fishing.

That's cool. The swans flying over always get my attention.
I don't even bother to look when the sky carp come in anymore.
Every 2-3 years we get a loon on our lake in the spring but I never hear that call they are so well known for.

Sandhill cranes are fairly common up this way in the spring and summer. Killbuck Marsh in Wayne county has quite a few around most of the year.
