I don’t watch any of these shows anymore. Kids played a couple videos in man cave of these so called pros,it was just disgusting imho.

It’s about as fake as WWE wrestling.

Theys guys say they are pros no they just write checks. None of it is even close to what an average hunter experiences .

As I told the kids these guys are fishing in ponds that are full of 10lb -12bass lower end of scale in there pond is a 5 lb bass.

It all boils down to how munch money you spend.

Come fish my pond /woods it holds 5lb bass 5 lb being huge but doesn’t hold 10lb per se.

Come pull that 10 lb bass out of the pond show me your a pro when there is not one in the pond etc.

Nothing pro in writing checks . Dunno to me it’s all fake .

There are many great hunters out there way better than most these goons that have never killed a 150 deer because their property doesn’t have them.

I believe the last video kids played was a guy shooting a 200 inch deer with a recurve out of a tower stand in the middle of a corn field .🤣🤣🤢🤢🤢🤢

Pros not in my book . Wealthy and having fun I guess so. All good but Pro doesn’t fit in with me.

Like I said it’s about as fake as WWE wrestling.
They travel around week to week hunt know what they are going to shoot and make a show out of it.

To be honest killing 5 160s a year. A couple 150s and a 200 inch. Wouldn’t give me much motivation to hunt the following year .🤷‍♂️

To each their own tho. Just don’t label a fella a pro for writing checks. A 5 year old that is blind in one eye. And legless could go out and do the same damn thing they are doing. Write the check give the location.

I will say I did appreciate Tred Bartas show.🤣🤣 I believe his show was one of the best feel for what he went through.
You might want to watch the video before throwing shade.

Nah I’m not dogging this guy I’m talking the industry as a whole .

I’ve not watched it more than likely I won’t .
If your writing checks and traveling week to week I really have no need to.

Not hating on the fella obviously the industry. If he’s happy good for him but these guys are not PROS!
I’m sure it’s a really entertaining show and he got his clicks and a payday.

What I seen on that video was nothing like any TV show I've ever watched. This young man is a hard core trophy buck hunter and a damn good one. It would be very hard to pull off what he did on any older buck let alone that world class monster. He gets off his ass and makes it happen. He seems to be different than the norm in the outdoor industry IMO. I agree must of them are a disgrace to outdoorsman but I don't see Mr Ellis in the same lite as them. Very few people on this planet could have made that happen if they had his time and money or not! Plus he was dragging along a camera man. It's amazing he pulled it off! 🦌

Just curious how you guys are so confident in your "knowledge" of him writing checks for permission? I'd like to think this crowd was above speculative hate, but maybe not. You say you're not hating on him, but you're throwing shade in a thread about him and lumping him in with "the industry" you hate.

Another thought, the dude is the literal definition of a professional. A professional is "someone engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime." He's literally a professional deer hunter.

I respect your opinion.👍 You cannot say he wasn’t paying I can’t say he was. Either way no biggie but he is not a PRO in my eyes. Pro meaning one of the best there is .

As far as the Industry goes I’ll say it agin I hate what they do it’s fake and paid for . Maybe the fella is an anomaly 🤷‍♂️ but overall I have no respect for the “industry “
Agin he could be that 1 percent type fella but the other 99 are not Pros not even close .

Just my 2cents maybe half a penny.

To be clear once agin I’m not throwing shade at him directly have not watched his videos so have no insight in to what he did. So I can’t speak on this specific show/guy. As I have stated.

Just the industry itself and where they have gone is shameful.

I’ve always been impressed by Lee and the rest of the Seek One guys, and this most recent longer “movie” set the bar incredibly high. He leaves in a lot of the process, and all of the BS he deals with while getting permission whether it’s to hunt, shed hunt, just hang cameras or for access to another parcel. He is consistently killing mature whitetails every year, in multiple states (kinda expected when you do it for a living). I think he is one of the few that legitimately puts in the time and effort to kill these seemingly impossible to kill whitetails on YouTube. He shot another giant this year from the ground on public, and that just kinda further proved to me the dude has his shit wound tight and knows a thing or two about killing mature buck deerz.

I don't think many of the 'pros' are writing checks and/or are getting deer handed-to/put-in front of them. I have been good friends with Dave Reiser (one of Drury Outdoors original producers) for the past 20+ years. He lives a few blocks from me, has a full-time job, family, and also has his own property (not huge) that he puts tons of time into and manages well. He is the most down-to-earth fun-time beer drinking person you can be around. Probably like most here. We have celebrated our and other friends kills 'in the garage' many many times together. He was entering turkey calling competitions years ago about the time the Drurys were getting started, got hooked up with them through the competitions, and the rest is history. He is like 99% of the other 'pros' out there that produce a few videos a year and make a few $$$ doing what they love. And yea, he has been invited to outfitters who are wanting to pimp their business in front of a large audience. But a small piece of the puzzle for him/most though. I can't blame 'pros' for those opportunities.

It drives me nuts when I hear folks say 'I can shoot a deer like that if I had the property they were hunting on'. It is just like saying 'I could buy a yacht if I had had Donald Trumps money'. Both are true (well, maybe...), but are you willing to do the work and sacrifice to get there?

'Heartland Bowhunter' is one of my favorites. I love the way their videos are produced.

One thing I hate about these videos is: After the shot and they see the deer drop it's like they were just cured of cancer... All the fist pumping and OMG's and jumping up and down is bullshit... GIVE THE DEER A LITTLE RESPECT... A hand shake and a congrats is enough... Just my opinion...

Gotta say I disagre with you there. Can it be overdone? Sure, I suppose so. But what you’re witnessing when you see that reaction is the culmination of months of preparation and focus, effort, and dedication and frustration all finally coming to a close. Make that all happen on a trophy animal and sit there calmly and quietly, waiting for a congratulatory simple handshake???? Ain’t no fuckin way. If you can do that you’ve either got no competitive spirit within you or you’re more Terminator than you are human.

I don't hate anyone making these videos. People obviously enjoy watching them and different strokes for different folks. With that said, I have no desire to spend my precious free time (which isn't much) watching videos of people who live a life that is so out of touch from most normal hunters that's it simply isn't relatable to me. Money is almost always exchanged in some way to make these "productions" possible, and I believe that this farther contributes to the degradation of the deer hunting traditions that most of us grew up loving and enjoying. It's a microcosm of what is wrong with deer hunting, which is just my person opinion of course and one that i understand many dont agree with. I will admit I haven't watched a hunting video in 15 years other then Brocks son Mason's youtube channel, and that won't be changing anytime soon. The last hunting shows i routinely watched were Ted Nugent and Tred Barta. With that said I don't think less of anyone that does. To each their own. As far as the celebration of killing a deer, we all express ourselves differently, and as long as the animal itself is respected I don't have an issue. I now prefer the much more humble approach and to soak it all in quietly, but that has morphed as I've changed as a hunter. I think the TV hunters often overdo it intentionally to get likes. Get excited, just don't disrespect.
