She Broke.

I figured as we kick off spring we can share pictures or videos of broken crap we have to fix.

This will be my project to get running before the end of April. Bought it from work on Friday. 1998 Ford 5640 2wd. Don’t know much about it other than it ran and drove when it was parked 4 years ago! For 1000 bucks, it’s worth a shot!

Looks to be in pretty good shape though.

So neutral, key off down hills wasn’t the answer?
Something like that. I might tell the story some day. Probably going to be a campfire thing. I'm guessing I will be bumping the tow rig thread again though. It doesn't look bad in that pic, but it's pretty trashed.

It’s an old beat up saw that visits the Stihl dealer about 3 times annually for one reason or another. I took it in complete and clean. It would only run in full choke mode.I figured carb and/or gas filter, gas line issues like usual. He tore it all down for examination and called it dead. I’m accepting of that answer because I knew it was a matter of time. I’m considering getting it bronze coated so I can place it next to my first pair of baby shoes which are also bronzed.

Generic question, no agenda. What do folks run in their chain saws. Ethanol regular or higher or straight gas of a higher octane? Also what oil?
I use straight gas 90 octane. A good oil also and sea foam to clean out after sitting in the first tank each time. I've cut about 30 cord on my Sthil 250 (?) and just had it in for an oiling leak which would drain into my carry case. Had them fix that and tune up clean last fall.

2nd thing. I have the opportunity to buy a used but good condition 36 ton 11 hp splitter that splits in the horizontal and vertical positions. I think $700 is a good price, what say you?
