So I ordered a Muddy Tri-Pod stand from Wal-Mart... Thing weigh's 150 lbs... Puzzling thing is the fact that it has FREE freight shipping to my door... Special freight hauler is delivering tomorrow... Gotta be costing close to $50 bucks for them to deliver it... Yet order something small like a trail camera and it might result in a $5-$10 shipping charge.. Puzzling to say the least....

Drop ship direct from Muddy maybe, Walmart just executed the sale and it was built into margin during negotiation.....agreed, these things are strange but it's all about volume.

I had a lawn aerator (130lbs or so) shipped last week that was shipped directly from the manufacturer and showed up at my door on a full-size old dominion semi. The driver opened the door and that was the only thing in the trailer. Interesting to say the least.

Coat me over $30 to ship a ground blind. Big box and Amazon ships for free. Good bye little guy.

If that’s true, I’m not surprised. Quite the negotiation for a government entity that always loses money.

Actually it quite profitable for USPS because they're only doing what called the last mile. Most often Amazon delivers the package to the local PO for delivery. Amazon has some 70,000 trucks and 40 cargo planes.

Nothing is moving for free. Cost of the freight is built into piece price.

By the way, look for price increases across the board on many things we buy come end of Q4 or by 1/1/2020 at the latest.

LTL. You were likely the last drop of the day. From you the driver likely went on to load his wagon up. I still have no clue how you got free shipping as LTL hauls tend to be a little pricey
