I have a lot of scopes, many leopold Var-X 2, Zeiss conquest, Nikon, NO LONGER OWN ANY BUSHNELL, but one scope I have been using a lot of the last 5-6 years is the 3x9x40 Burris Ballistic plex, on slug guns, MZ's and now the PCR's

I am really impressed with these scopes. For a slug gun hunter that has the gun, load, ability and opportunity to take some longer shots the plex reticle would work very well for you.

As an example, one of my MZ's is 1-1/2"" high at 100 with the main crosshair and 2"" low at 200 with the second hash, third hash is dead on at 255.

With these MZ's loads the first two hashes are close enough that if a shot presents itself at a unknown yardage I can use the hashes for quick range estimation and also put both hashes in the deer and pull the trigger knowing with complete confidence that I will kill the deer. These MZ loads do however have a lot more giddyup than a slug gun.

You could do the same with a slug gun easily. Sight in your slugs to be zero at 100. Now set a target at 150 and hold your main 100 yd crosshair on center of the target and shoot 2-3 shots, they will impact low(hopefully in a group). Now look through the scope and hold the main crosshair back on center and adjust the power on your scope where the second hash (or anyone you want) is where your shots grouped. You are done, your main crosshair is 100, your second hash is 150. You don't have to worry about holdover just use the appropriate crosshair, HOWEVER please note that you must not adjust the power seating on your scope after you do this. This procedure and which hash mark you choose for what yardage will vary based upon the ballistics of your load. I am not saying your should be shooting slugs at long distances, just telling you how to use the ballistic plex to assist you if you do and the great success I have experienced with a relatively inexpensive yet quality scope.

You can get them on line for around $200. I haven't found any others that compare in that price range.
