), a true self bow is made from a single stave of wood with no backing material. This bow is a bamboo backed osage deflex/reflex flatbow. the osage used is board stock, i.e., dimensioned lumber. In truth, a bow like mine that is well made will perform on par with similarly designed glass longbows.
