Skydiving

Was on a rescue mission once where we flew a grid pattern over the ocean of the coast of panama for four hours searching for a fishing troller that went missing, cargo ramp and door open, both paratroop doors open with straps zig zaged across the opening too lean against so we could get a better view.... The loadmasters did the strap part I looked out the port widows and that was good enough for me.... 200 feet off of the water and 200 knots air speed for 4 hours will wear you plum out lol.... I still wouldn't have jumped even if I had too :smiley_clap: There's one thing about the C-130 they always find the empenage (tail section) intact :smiley_clap: There's 6 parachutes on the 130's no matter how many passegers that are on board, you kinda get used to the idea of oh well if it's my time it's my time..... But I ain't pushing that envelope rotflmao

This sounds like blast. Been bunjee jumping 7 different times and that or
B.A.S.E. jumping would be the next level. Enjoy the adrenaline Dale!

My dad had a small plane when I was a kid. We went flying most every Sunday afternoon. My idiot brother would get in the plane and talk about jumping out of it the entire time we were in flight. Like many of you, I ain't jumpin out of something that still has wings! I've never met a person that regretted doing it though....those folks are in no condition to talk.

For you to have the same chance of dying skydiving as you do in a car wreck you have to jump 17 times a year. Going skydiving one time is 17 times safer than driving to the grocery store. 30 people a year die skydiving in the us, but 110 people a day die in car accidents.

If I ever go on Jeopardy and am allowed to have someone on my team, I am picking Joe. There is seemingly no end to his knowledge of data, both useful and not as useful.

Have fun skydiving, Dale!

But millions of people drive every day to maybe a thousand jumping everyday?

yeah. But the math works out. If you look at the odds of getting in a wreck and dying and the odds of dying from jumping. You're 17 times more likely to die in a auto wreck this year than dying if you jump out a plane. Skydiving is extremely safe in reality. It only happens 30 times a year that's why it's memorable when you hear about it and people think its dangerous. But if you heard about every traffic fatality in the US you would never drive again.

My chances of dying from jumpin out a plane are...wait a sec I need a calculator for this...OK got the answer, it's 0%. So jack you are correct I'm more likely to die in a car crash.lmao

I have never done it, but would like to. Tracie and I almost did it on vacation a couple of years ago and wish we had now. Have fun with it Dale!!!

We did the parasailing thing a few years ago and it was a blast.

I'm expecting this to trump that with way more intensity.
