Snake Head

I was spraying R-up around my pond this morning and found a dead fish that I couldn’t ID. Now the only thing I’ve ever put in the pond are bluegill, bass, catfish and grass carp, and this wasn’t one of them.

So there’s a guy I know that knows a thing or two about fish and he couldn’t ID it. So he asked a friend who has a fish farm and he thinks it’s a snake head. Not sure how it got in there, supposedly they can cross land a few hundred yards. Maybe someone threw it in.

Ewww… that isn’t good. But the guys in Florida have apparently learned to love fishing for them.

I'm saying its a bowfin. The teeth look more like a bowfin and from what I can tell the top of the head doesn't have a dip like a snakehead.
