No turkeys were heard or seen on Mason and Alana’s hunt this morning. Btw, that is his truck in the background… you know how it is, pack in deep into the wilderness and the critters will be at your truck. 😀

Went to a new spot this afternoon, buddy I work with bought 30+ac horse farm, not far from my house, last fall. Never being there before I looked on onx for property lines and likely lookin spots. Went to the far end of the farm, nice little grassy field bottom. Put out a strutter and hen decoy and crawled into some thick shit with a few openings to shoot. Tried one of my slate calls and didn't like how it sounded, switched to a mouth call a let out a couple cackles and yelps. Nothin. I'm texting a buddy and my brother and I hear a spit. Look to my left and here he comes. Strutted all the way into a load of #5's at 15yds. 20lbs, 10-1/2"beard, and a 1-3/8"&1-1/4"spurs. I wasn't sitting there 10min. Stupit birds.
