I think it is safe to say that if you turn Slick, me and JOHNROHIO loose in the squirrel woods with guns, we are all going to have fun. Slick did me proud. He hunted really well today and found the meat, including one double which, by some miracle, we managed to kill them both. Gave it his all for us and is now totally crashed. Poor old feller. Saw 8, killed 8. Shooting was, shall we say, "adequate", lol. Still, when every rat you see winds up in the game bag, there is little to complain about. A suppressed .22 rifle is badassly quiet. I may have to have one. Great day, John. Glad you could make it.

I suck! If it were left up to me today, we’d be walking out with a couple empty mags in my pocket and few squirrels and an angry dog
. I’m pretty upset with my ability’s today, if this stupid rifle and I don’t learn to get along….
I don’t even know if it will get to go along next time. I might leave it at home like a bad kid and take the old.

Good idea, but I'm going to make sure she does not see this. She is hard enough to live with already.
Was not really planning to hunt today since it was forecasted to be rainy all day but decided to take a walk with the unexpected break in the weather. Dogs have been couped up for a few days, and I can only take so much socializing, so it was nice to be out in the woods prowling. Was gloomy, foggy, damp, and warm, which was apparently not motivating the squirrels today. Slick found one pretty fast and did damn good job on a really long track to nail it. I shot it in the head. We went to a dozen or so dens but never saw another squirrel in the couple of hours we hunted. I ran out of gas pretty fast today as I'm fighting off some kind of crud. Slick was full of piss and vinegar, but the rats were just playing today. Try again when the wind dies down. No pics today
I was happy to get a decent hunt in before the orange army comes back. Saw 3 killed two of them. Had to walk away from the other one as it was about 30 yards across the very heavily posted property line and the house was only about 100 yards from us. Not the first time this has happened in that spot. Slick treed three in the first hour, but we did not see another squirrel the rest of the day. Well, I didn't anyway. Slick might have as he took off after one (something?) barking like hound on a hot rabbit for over 400 yards. I was about to light him up for chasing trash, but he did tree solid and there were fresh tracks from an obviously running-for-its-life squirrel going to the tree he was on. Unfortunately, there was a big hole, and it was not a very big tree and easy for me to look over pretty thoroughly. He was so excited that I took a few action shots for fun. Try again on Wednesday.
