So that it's easier to put the whole thing in the barrel. Bullet, pellets etc. But it kind of defeats the purpose of the holes in the pellets. Those are so the primer flame goes through the length of the charge igniting them all at once from the inside. Vs from the rear of the bottom pellet.

That and I'm sure the pellets fall off anyway when you go to dump the quick load in the barrel
