And hicks, not in a park. A city limits area where deer are commonly watched.
Here's order of what I'm saying.
1.Deer shot. Story claims shot on x road 3-4 miles south of town.(my road)

2. Day before deer shot, hunter who killed deer had a friend who spotted and posted on fb that he saw this buck with the hunters brother in this city limit area.3-4 miles away from where it was said to be shot a day later.

3. Trail can pics came flying out of this deer just north of the main city limits area this deer has been seen at.

4. I posted to point out the obvious lie that this deer was not killed on my road. Or by it. Then added my opinion that there are fishy things about this deer. Never said he poached it. Just that the story does not make sense to the people who know this deer.

Sounds like a very well planned out deer drive happened, and it worked!

If the guy did kill it legally it is shit rumor threads like this that suck.
I feel for the guy if he did it the right way.

There's an easy solution. Don't lie as say you shot it miles an miles south of where it was seen just a couple days prior. Or where it's been seen it's entire life. Sounds to me like like this deer was a solid regular in the city. Then all of a sudden it decided to up an move 4 miles through the city to an area he's never been seen at before? Durring the rut on a non urban buck I might believe that's possible. But not the last weekend of season with a deer that has does within spitting distance at his safe core area in the city. I'm not saying he did. Just saying that doesn't jive.

Whatever happened I think it's pretty obvious he lying about something. He either shot it legally and lied about, or he poached it and lied about it.

When I shoot a good deer I just go ahead and try to put all the possible rumors out in the air right off the bat. Shot it at night, over bait, from a truck, out of season, while free basing at my girlfriends house while my wife was at work.

I love how if you question anything about a deer that was killed it's labeled as "jealousy". Lol. Speaks volumes about deer hunting today. It's not a competition. Its a deer. Are we as hunters in some kind of race I wasn't aware of? It's like if someone says "how the hell did Bernie win New Hampshire last night" and someone else saying "oh quit being jealous of Bernie" lol.

If Mason or I ever shoot a really good one, I'm filming the whole thing, at least recovery. That is, if I can't get a WO to tag along.

On a side note, for anyone that thinks it is unlikely a deer will move 3 miles, you are wrong. I know for a fact from trying to kill one specific deer, they think nothing of picking up and moving on a whim. Once they hunker down in an area, they will remain there for several weeks or even a month, but when they decide it is time to go...they go. There is a real chance this deer found a better brand of bird feed across town a decided to stay where he had not been seen before. Just trying to give the be nefit of the doubt here, really because I hate hearing of deer like this being taken be less than ethical means, which they often are.

I read an article a few years ago about a monster killed in the Cincy area (suburban deer)that would literally travel about a mile everyday and was killed in a bean field. If I remember correctly he had like a 3 mile range as well.

Yes from alliance. And that's my whole point of even posting on this thread I guess. I'm in no way jealous. Just curious as to why he would lie of shooting a deer in a location that a lot of people know he is not there.
