From 19 Dec LFTS thread:

Fun afternoon, got in, wind was hinky for an hour 1430-1540 then cleaned up, to the SE which is great for this bench. Four came in, two older does and two fawns, couldn't tell which old girl was bigger so I drew back on the one that acting... like an old doe lol. Stalking around looking at everything, nose in the air trying to root you out. 21 yds, when I drew back she took step from broadside to quartering away, worked it in there.

Late season does are fun but a PITA. Tagged out and on week 3 of momma in Hospice. Good and bad.

In the new year. Spent 6 weeks up in OH getting mom into Hospice and beds and lift chairs and whatnot. Everyone else in the family is dead except me so I'm hanging up here and being with her as much as I can. She's in no pain and smiles often, lost most cognition and verbal ability. Sit with her and watch a old cowboy movie, been thru 8 or 9 now. Loves the old John Wayne stuff. She was 13 in 1944 during WWII so she's of that era.

Prolly gonna start a thread on Hospice. It's an experience that's for sure, most of the death I've seen has been quick and devastating bodily injury. Quite something else to sit with it daily and watch it kill, by 1,000 cuts, to your mom. My heart goes out to those that work in the field and keep a sane smile.

Sorry about your Mother. Been there myself and there is nothing worse. Hospice is really something. Remarkable people. I don't know how anyone gets through situations like this without them. I don't think I could have.
