This spot is called "The Hole in the Fence" Basically the view is from the top of a ladder stand that puts you at eye level with the 8 ft wide trail next to the fence you see there. It's an all or nothing spot - they will come from the right or the left and you gotta stop them and shoot them between the posts.
So the deer came at 4:20 from the right...I heard him walking and saw antler thru the brush....I drew down on the shooting lane and waited for him to come into the clear. He was walking quickly with his nose on the air...snap decision that he's a shooter, then I stopped him and drilled him thru the shoulder and double lunged him. He took off 40 yards and died (very conveniently) on the trail, right next to a scrape.
Nice 7 point (formerly an 8 point but snapped one off fighting). First day of camp.. he's hanging now and I'll cut him up at my leisure today while it rains, got the rest of the week to relax and maybe hunt a doe, maybe not
