It just went through here. I must say I'm a little disappointed lol. I think the winds we had well before the storm front was worse then the actual storm lol. The rest of you stay safe out there.

I made it. Power was out until around 4pm. You know, about the time I unhooked the Gill Pulverisor from the tractor, hooked up the generator, and was getting ready to shut down the outside disconnect on the house and plug the generator in to run the house for the night. Go figure. I guess it is better than not having it there to use in the event we would have needed it all night.

Not confirmed yet, but either a tornado touched down or the geil force winds did the damage in Cridersville. The old school gymnasium roof either collapsed or was ripped off. Conflicting stories and I have not driven over there to rubber neck. Figured there was enough traffic in that little town. Approximately a mile from me as the crow flies. Heard of a house destroyed as well. Will have to check the news to see. Might have been where the gym roof came apart. Purely speculation on my part. Might not have been a house damaged at all. Got it second or third hand. The gym roof made the news though. My Dad was keeping me posted as I dicked around with the tractor and generator. Parents had power.

Bottom line, we are all okay. Kids made it home safely. Wife texted me from work and is okay. That is all I care about.

Good deal, glad everyone is safe and sound Phil. My mom is a secretary at the State Patrol in Wapak and she said that they heard that the house in Cridersville that received the damage was ripped to shreds.. but again that is 2nd or 3rd hand.

It got clear as a bell here after it passed, the sun came out, just a little windy, but probably could have hunted tonight if I knew it was going to clear up that fast.

I saw the deer on the move in the open tonight. Figured they would be since my wife had to work until 7pm. One of my buddies hunted and saw 18 deer. Crazy thing is he didn't make it to the stand until 5:45!!!

HuntNWOhio- One of my former employees is a state trooper at that post. Your mom is correct. There was a couple of blocks which were pretty much ripped apart. No injuries from what I hear. That is the main thing. My mom was about 2 blocks away from the destruction cleaning a house for an elderly lady. She didn't want to drive in the storm and didn't want to leave the lady. Said she heard what she thought was funny sounding lightning. Found out later it was the touch down of the "yet to be confirmed" tornado. I asked if she was in the basement. She said "No, I was standing in the doorway of the front door when I heard it." As I was giving her some crap about not taking cover, she giggled and said "I know. We were in the safest part of the house and thought it must have missed us. Got up, walked to the door to see if it was clear and heard the commotion." She must have heard the "calm before the storm" and thought it was over. Probably was just about to touch down but hadn't yet. Craziness. Good Lord was looking over my Mom and the elderly lady today.
