“But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11 NASB
Teach your children about the love of God, a love so great that God humbled Himself and became man so through Him all mankind might be saved.
Teach your children that people are more important then things, to cherish their family and friends, to never take them for granted. To buy clothes at the thrift store, that cars and houses are not status symbols, but merely forms of transportation and shelter.
Teach your children to give freely of their time and money, never let them elevate themselves above those less fortunate then they are. Teach them to go without to they can bless others, giving out of excess is not really giving, give until it changes your lifestyle.
Teach your children that they are always learning or teaching, this never stops for your entire life. If you are not learning something look around because you are teaching someone something by your words, actions, and priorities.
Teach your children to love God more than anything else in this world. Your children should not be the center of your world, that is where God belongs. Love God first, your spouse second, your children third, do this and all your priorities will fall into place.
My prayer is for you all to know the One whose birth we celebrate today, Jesus the Christ. May you all have a blessed Christmas and New Year.
