Team Buckzilla

On the home front, the latest cam check showed the bucks being more consistent, almost nightly, to check the licking branch and scrape. Currently 3 bucks have targets on their back, the 13pt, a 2.5 year old 11pt, and finally the big nine I almost killed last year reappeared. Looking forward to the increasing activity as we move through mid/late October.

When you finally buy a tag. . .decide you are going to hunt in the morning. . . Then you are up every hour on the hour. Ugh. Alarm set for 510. Standing in kitchen at 406. Body tired. Brain on overdrive.

Gonna be out Friday afternoon for this coldfront. I think im gonna hit a piece of public close to my work. Anyone ever hunt Grand River Wildlife Area in Trumbul County? Looks like lots of river bottom area. Excited to hunt a new piece. Good luck to anybody heading out.

Actually got a couple of pictures this soak. Now I need to format my cards to reflect dates for the contest😂.

Went back to an old mixture I used to use that worked great! Just got to a point that I didn’t need to use it anymore...so I thought.

Here’s my mixture:
Corn
Apple cider vinegar
Table sat

I mix about 1/2-3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket at a time. Put corn in the bucket, dump about a cup of salt on top and poor 4-5 cups of vinegar on top of it. Cover it and let it set for a few hours or overnight if you can. Measurements are guesses as I just do what I do, but you get the idea.

Nothing impressive buck wise, but I’d sure love to see Maddy sitting behind him! Hell, might even get my goat after my last couple of years. Time stamp conversion puts him here right at shooting light in the morning every 3 days.

I'll be hunting yote from here on out on the main property. Got out later then I wanted this evening so I took the stool and xbow. Had a yote come in at 6pm but was around 60-70 yards out. Couldn't get it any closer. Got back to the truck and swore I heard one in the brush on the other side of the fence row. Started up the truck and walked back to meet Dante. As we turn to walk back to the truck a yote came across the field but it was dark and again 60-70 yards out.

Going out after I get off work tomorrow and taking the yote rifle to even the playing field a little.
