I haven't decided yet. Pffft. The bucks are still pretty much nocturnal & I'm waiting on November...I've learned the latter part of that month is better.
Be prepared when hunting deer ....lol. That was a pass thru shot & I can't find the bolt. There was no blood & I found only a tuff of hair at impact site. I always prefer the deer to be traveling in the opposite direction because there's a trail they'd use which is easier to navigate thru. I figured a buck would run to the opposite side of field for escape in this shot direction, nope, this buck had a different plan. He made a cut into the briars & tried to circle back, like past bucks shot. I don't know how he got thru that shit...didn't go 20 yrds. As much comotion as he made, he didnt go far at all. I HATE briars ! He ended in a little clearing inside & I made the best of it....
So are we to assume you got one of your hit listers down and are trying to cut through that briar patch to get to him and drag him out? If so, then…..AWESOME JOB Kevin!!!!
This guy was probably #3 on my list. Mr Droptine hasn't been around like he has been. That mature 7 is still nocturnal & I'm pretty sure this buck is the one I shot.
It's crazy the # of times my cams have caught deer bedded. This one has been laying next to one of my blinds for the last 1/2 hr. She was out with other does & a spike was pestering them, in that area when I left one of my other blinds & she just stayed .....
That doe is still there after over 3 hrs. She has gotten up a few times, sniffed the ground where she lay & stretched a bit. No signs of being hit by an arrow. Maybe waiting on her gal pal to come back from whoring around ? She didn't look very comfortable when in the process of laying down. I dunno...
