Wow yeah that's a first for me also on the steelhead. Pretty cool! On the river?
Yep, was gonna go to the mouth by a friend of mine said to find safe ice up the river a decent ways. Kinda reminded me of walleye on Erie, nothing then boom a flurry of fish moving through. Fight was like nothing else, gonna give it another shot tomorrow I’m hoping. Lost a big one, need redemption.

Someone's ready to go to the lake this weekend.

Spent the weekend up on Saginaw Bay. My buddy and I fished for eyes on Saturday and perch on Sunday. Great weather, but the fish were picky. No issues making a 10.5 mile run on Saturday morning. All cracks were tight, and we had light winds. We fished in 28ft of water off the East side. Marked fish steady all day, but were very negative. We only managed to entice 5 eyes to hit. We fished on 16" of ice, but did have a crack open up on our trail back Saturday night. A 12 footer opened up, so we had to run it for a different spot to cross. We found a 4ft wide section and crossed over safely. For anyone going up to the bay, watch for the open water spots on the west side. Take your planks and watch the wind.

I headed to Saginaw for the weekend again. The fishing is still spotty, but we managed several nice fish.
We fished the East side and were 10.3 miles out in 28 ft of water. Worked our way shallower from last week's numbers and ended in 24ft. All 25"+ fish, Mark tons, fool a few. The random catfish was an incredible bonus. Infact, my personal best fish through the ice. No official scale, but this cat pushed 30+lbs. Released to be caught another day.
