I'm up for any and all suggestions. The hardest part is always setting a date and doing it no matter the weather or fishing.
It’s kinda hard to have an ice fishing outing without the right weather though lol. I’m all for an outing, but I’m not driving north unless there’s good ice to be fished on. It’s usually not practical to plan an ice trip more than 2-3 weeks in advance. The ice and weather conditions are just too unpredictable, especially on the big water. Now if it’s simply a walk out and panfish kind of trip, that’s a different story. But you don’t usually have to go north to make that happen either.

Saginaw, Houghton, Higgins, Cadillac, Mitchell... all good lakes that are relatively close to the border. I am partial to Saginaw Bay but that’s just me. The access and local hospitality is tough to beat.
