The Moon - What do we know?

Hunt when I can. Same boat here. I must admit though, the lack in deer activity across the state (from my reading on TOO) is puzzling. Is it the moon? I dunno.

The only time the moon predicts my hunting is when I'm trying to justify procrastinating something that needs to be done. Yes dear I know the kitchen sink needs to be fixed but it's a new moon and I really need to capitalize on the opportunity.

Agreed, hunt when you can. I have precious little time to be worrying about where the moon is.

The moon could be purple with orange polkadots and turned inside out and I'm still going hunting if that's the situation I'm faced with when my vacation rolls around! Lol

Although I do feel the moon does effect deer movement in positive and negative ways my work and family obligations dictate if I'm even in the game to begin with! Lol

If I could pick the perfect senerio it would be temps in the 30 to 40 range, overcast skies and a light and steady wind out of the WSW during the new moon phase. Give any of us those conditions during the last 4 days of October thru Nov. 7th and put all of our asses in a stand over a funnel between doe bedding areas with a favorable wind and the IKS threads are going to pile up! :pickle:

This!!!!

Yeah, till I retire I hunt whenever I can, moon/no moon, rain/no rain.
About the only thing that can keep me from going hunting when I have a chance is wind.
High wind, ugh! Friggin hate it 'cause nothing moves (except limbs that fall on your head).

I can take my vacation from Oct 29th - Nov 6th or Nov 5th-13th. What do the old wise ones think for southern Ohio? Lol

A couple years ago 2013 I think I took the second week off because of the moon and what they said was a trickle rut. Second week basically sucked no chasing or searching. But when I checked my cams the first week of November showed some slammers coming thru all day. So I took the first week of November the last couple years I think your always gonna hit it around then at least gonna see some seeking and chasing. Well I hope that's the case this year

IMO, this one! No brainer Eric! The big boys are on their feet more in the daytime and are seeking finally and there's more of a chance of lockdown during the other option, IMO.

Of course we'd all like to be able to have both and then some!:pickle:

Nov 5-13 has always worked for me.

The switch usually turns on Nov 6-9 depending how cold it gets.

If its warm weather that appears to delay things a little and/or depresses the chases during daylight hours.
