We need to connect sometime this summer. Our boys are 4, 3, and 3 months. Check out Tall Timbers in Port Clinton, OH and see if anything works for you this summer.

Lots of things to do in the area (islands, boats, planes) and at the campground (Dj's, dances, fishing, swimming, arts/crafts).

Sounds good! We don't have anything outside of July 4th and Halloween on the books right now. July is going to be local camping only due to work (summer shutdown maintenance activities) but we should free back up again in August. I will get with you once schedules finalize.

We tried out the Ottawa Metro Park Campgrounds here in Lima this past weekend. Very nice facilities. Bathrooms/Shower houses were immaculate, nice swimming pond and playgrounds for the kids, and the spots are nice and big. Also, $10 firewood fee and you can burn all you want all weekend.

Here is a picture of our spot and my cousin's family next to us:

Nights camped: 28

What is everyone's input on RV Surge Protectors? The last couple of weekends with the heat and everyone running their A/C, I could tell mine wasn't running and blowing as cold as it usually does. From what I've been told and read, that is not good for your A/C's compressor. I haven't yet added a surge protector to our supplies, but would like one that can tell low voltage as well as high. Any thoughts?

Nice big open spot there Drake!

I recommend any model from Progressive Industries. I use the PT-30C, too many electronics in them today not too. Cheap insurance.

We were going to just stay at home this weekend but there was a Walleye for Wounded Heros hig roast last night. I took the two oldest over, wife stayed home with the little guy.

Opened the door and my heart sank. That unmistakeable smell of a warm fridge and freezer. Lost about $100 worth of food:smiley_cry: I got it cleaned up, aired out and switched over to propane. On electric it thinks its ok, no warning/check lights, but doesnt work. It got cold and held up through the night and Im hoping a $30 heating element is the fix. Out of warranty by 2 months.....fuggars

In the end Im glad we went over because another week would have ruined the inside of the camper lol!

Got the replacement heating element in the mail yesterday. Took the oldest boy over to install last night. Replacement went well and I'm 95% sure that was the issue, will find out today when we arrive for the long weekend. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend for the 4th of July! I'm hoping to spend some more time with this national hero, Ernie West, receipent of the Congressional Medal of Honor. This picture was from last weekend's Walleye for Wounded Hero's event at the campground.

Sucks about the fridge Adam!

Chit happens. Hoping the $30 fix was it. Just waiting for confirmation from the wife:pickle:

The bitch of it all, it's only 2 months out of warranty and it's a known issue. I will be contacting Atwood (fridge manufacturer) next week asking if they want the part back to confirm it was the bad supplier and also a credit for the part & my time. Beats calling out a mobile RV service though......I hope lol. If not, it ran fine for a week on propane so we have a fall back.

You too giles. Getting out this weekend to put the fix to the test?

Nope, we were going to head to the state up north for my uncles wedding but have a bunch to get done before we leave to AK. So I will be home this weekend getting things done around the house. We leave in a week! Yippie!!!!! Time for some REAL camping.

Been 2 months since this has been updated. Hope you guys are getting out!

I yanked our camper from our seasonal site a few days into July for preplanned events. Just put it back last Tuesday prior to Labor Day and we didn't even end up staying the holiday weekend. After having it home and hitting different venues (Mohican cabrewing trip/ BG tractor pulls, etc.) we both have agreed we are not going to do seasonal again next year. I was REALLY surprised when she agreed and still believe she may change her mind once we start going back now until Nov 1 when the season is over. We'll see...

Anyone looking for a golf cart lol.

I'm going to have to install a hookup for black water at my house. We've enjoyed all the guest that have come to visit this summer. It's nice to have a home away from home and it's nice to have a guest house.

I'll be dragging it up to Elmore again this weekend.

I used mine last weekend for a show. It was my home away from home. Nothing more than a bed to sleep in though. I wouldn't call it "camping".
