The Official Camper and Camping Thread

Just got back from a 4 day trip to Mohican. Got 10 miles from the campground and noticed smoke. Thought it was a brake at first. Pulled off to the side and had tranny fluid coming from front seal. Luckily we were traveling with a few other couples. My cousin went and dropped his camper and came back for mine. Had mine towed to a local shop. Sounds like that seal is a known issue with the 4R100 Transmission that is in my truck. No overheat codes and it sounds like everything else in there is pretty sound. Still gotta drop the tranny but could have been much worse. We had a blast during the trip and my brother brought his truck up on Sunday and towed us back Monday morning.

A/C update...dropped it off late last night and happened to run into owner of service place (was surprised as it was close to 10PM). Said he would replace it. I asked about a fix and he said he wanted to replace. I hate taking things in for service, but as I mentioned this is something I just don't know about other than maintenance. New will offer a warranty at least. Will be glad it's up for the weekend of the 4th at salt fork.

I hope the new unit works out good for you man.

I drug our camper out to Rocky Fork this evening. We've never camped there before. Calling for some massive rain so we just set it up and came back home for tonight.

We needed to dump the tanks and get a spot anyways. So it worked out for something to do this evening. Got see a lot of deer on their feet TOO!

Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. Didn't sound like he said is exactly wrong with it, correct? Enjoy the 4th at SFL!

Giles enjoy Rocky Fork and let us know what you think of the campground.

We made it, got the yard all picked up from the storm, ball practice, all that crap that needs done on Friday so you can enjoy the weekend list is done. I was in such a rush when we dropped it off to beat the rain I didn't really give much attention. These spots are SMALL! Going to be interesting if we have a bad neighbor... Won't be any shagging going on without everyone knowing, that's for sure.

Oh well, it could be the best couple of weeks of the kids summer! Open minded going into this one, no expectations beyond building memories.

I did some stumbling around a bit yesterday. They have some really nice campsites around, most are small. The ones down by the lake are full hookup, nice sized and on the lake. Couple of play grounds, nice put put, air conditioned shower houses, and very family oriented.

Gave the old rag a bath today and dewinterized. Got a trip coming up down to East Fork. Takin kids to Newport aquarium and Coney island a few days (they are 3&5). Also nice to be able to take the dogs along and not board them.
