Not sure why the blocked FG return is being made out to be such a big deal. It's not like it was in the final seconds of the game. There was 4:27 left in the game, plenty of time to get down field and kick a FG to tie it, or a TD. For the win. That's two possessions if the O and D are on their job. Looking at the stats the bucks dominated the game in all aspects except penalties where they gave up 45 yards in 8 penalties. But total yards, 413/276. First downs 19/13 and even time of possession 37/22. With stats like that there's no reason you can't win that game when you're only down by 3 with 4:27 left. I don't think penn state brought it as much as the bucks just didn't close the damn deal. Barrett's pass completion 28 for 43 and getting sacked 6 times hurts for sure but still the total yards and possession was dominated by the bucks.

I think he should get a mixed bag of WTF and Dicks. Actually he may have already had a bag and was eating them because he sure wasn't paying attention!
I will however still say Fuck Michigan if we win or loose!rotflmao

Well, when you loose by 3. 2 scores of 7 matter. And 6 sacks would have to take a little out of you I would think.

Buckeyes had it. 5 play 90yd scoring drive for a TD put PSU back in the game. They fell apart. Blocked punt. Blocked FG for TD. O line fell apart. Penn State fed off of it and the Buckeyes didn't respond. It sucks. When you are the youngest team out there, all the talent in the world doesn't prepare you. Those boys had a learning moment last night. It will be interesting to see if Urban turns it into a teaching moment. It will be interesting to see how they respond. They have a couple more tough games coming.

There's always missed points in any game that we can point to and say we would have won if. You'll never get them all but the trick is percentages. Say you leave 30% of the points on the field each game. That's ok if it's 30% of 80 points. But if it's 30% of 30 points you're in trouble. It's not the points you screw up on that costs you the game. It's the points you never had a chance to screw up on and or make. You could miss 50% of your field goals and have a redzone percentage of 50% and it doesn't matter if you're in the redzone twice as much as the other guy.

I don't see it as missed points Joe. I see it as handing them out. Stop either of the 2 and you win. Should not have been that close to start with....As you yourself said Ohio State lead in everything (even penalties). Couple major fugg-ups and Penn State made it count.

Here is the deal. OSU's offense primarily Barrett and some Samuel. Everyone was slobbering over Mikey Webber and the WR's earlier in the year because they score a bunch against Oklahoma. Same OU team that just gave up over 700 yards passing to Pat Mahomes of Texas Tech. The WR's struggle to get open on anything other than go routes down the field. They ran into a pretty fast and disciplined PSU secondary and they shut them down for the most part. OSU wide receivers have yet to learn how to run any routes worth a damn. The PSU corners were undercutting any short routes they ran all night because the WR's weren't crisp at all out of breaks. I hope Urban keeps running Barrett to death before the UM game. If I remember right, OSU had one sustained drive for a TD. The other was a long run by Samuel, and a couple FG's.

I'm not predicting a win for Michigan against OSU, but UM's D-Line is gonna destroy OSU's Offensive Line. Spy Barrett with Jabrill Peppers, and see what happens

OSU v Mich is going to be a toss up. I can see Michigan winning more times than not but being at OSU hurts, big.

Woohoo, it's competitive again!

Haha. I played it cool to most of my buddies. I did train my boy to give them all kinds of shit this weekend. Something so hilarious seeing a 5 year old doubled over laughing while pointing at my buddies saying "You guys lost to Penn State. OSU sucks". It took me about 30 minutes to train him.

BTW Joe, I know most of the south claims the whole SEC. I'm too lazy to search the previous threads, so who is your actual team? Ole Miss I'm assuming?

Always been an Alabama fan. Born in Mobile then later raised in Mississippi. I'm only an all in SEC fan if it's out of conference or bowl season.

Well damn, it's been a nice little run for you then, haha. SEC is a little down now. Lots of great assistants taking jobs in the conference and spreading the wealth out a bit more. I guess come bowl season we'll see if thats the case or not

Anybody catch the Michigan score from yesterday?
I did. Kind of a loss/win for the buckeyes. Issue now is the buckeyes have to win out and hope that Penn state loses to get to the B1G championship game. Would have much rather see Michigan win then the Buckeyes beat them in two weeks. Would have made it a three way tie in the east with the Buckeyes getting the tie breaker.

i was happy at first. Then I felt it took something away. Beating an undefeated Team UP North would have been more satisfying.

That terrible face masking penalty really benefited the Hawkeyes putting them 15 yards closer to kick a field goal as time was a huge factor as well. Flag should have been picked up! First and only time I think I ever sided with TTUN on a call! Lol

After Michigans pick they got to damn conservative and went 3 and out and punted. They don't play Tressel ball and convert one first down then Iowa prolly never gets the ball back! Lol
