This subject has hit me hard too lately. Mom decided to sell the house next year and I need to go pick up all his hunting stuff...I knew I'd get it all some day, but I still wasn't ready for that to be this soon.
I'd like to tell you it goes away, but I'm not a liar. I feel you guys. Always there, but there are times it hits harder. Hang in there.
Yea it never really goes away, but sometimes it is worse than other times. This December it will be 11 years since my dad past and it seems like only yesterday.
Yep. It's been over seven for me. Still very fresh at times.
All still very much an influence on all of us, this is just another sign of that. Chin up, dust yourself off and go do something today!
None of our dad's want us sad. Keep that in mind when times get tough. That isn't what they want at all. Find peace and find joy somehow and press forward. Try harder to be the man he wants to be proud of. Still here or not, this holds true.

Yesterday made it 8 years since my mom passed. Dad's passing will be 6 years in December. FB memories suck this time of year reminding me of what she went through and how fast she went downhill and his will be no different. Then again it is good to remember everything about them but dwelling on the end rather than the memories in between is what we all need to focus on. Is it odd that I have been having multiple dreams about my dad lately, meeting him in the woods and building ground blinds to hunt as well as walk the trails together?! Makes me feel he is close by anyway.

It's been sixty years since my Dad passed. He and several others are still hanging over my shoulder.
Life is for the living, so do right and live well.
I recommend you drink the good stuff first because you just never know. And make good memories because it's all you take with you when you go.
