Ill give short run through of fridays rabbit hunt. We hunt with my boss once a year at his property. We had 8 dogs on the ground. It was one of the most rabbit polluted places ive ever seen. The dogs ran every bit of 20 rabbits. They were everywhere. 2 to 3 races going on at one time. It was nuts. We ended up witha total of 13 rabbits. Shouldve had more. But it was so thick you couldnt get a shot on alot of them. And 8 dogs pounding on a rabbit is intense.

I need some sort of hands free way to record them. I find it hard to record and shoot. I end up throwing my stuff on the ground and teying to get a shot off. Cameras can get pricey and then trying to edit for youtube so its friendly on the ears lol. You get bunch a guys shootin the breeze while rabbits are runnin and the conversation could get quite colorful.....

So far everything we've dealt with is the go pro and it's not bad, they have a mount you can attach too your barrel of your shotgun. That's what Sam and I both have. Sam's go pro is a newer smaller version then mine. I have a bad habit of not turning mine on lol...
I'll try to do better in the future lol Try to at least get some decent footage....

Sounds like a good time dirtysouth. Thanks for the writeup.

Just a tip - You may want to start typing up your stuff in NotePad and then copy from there and paste here. I do that sometimes when I know it's going to take me a while to write something up or if I want to start it and finish it later.

The rabbit woods werent kind to us today. We took the usual 5 dogs with us to saltfork. We got a late start today around noon. As we had other things that needed to be taken care of. At our first drop the area looked to be great for rabbits, a small field with some standing corn surround in some really thick cover. Turbo my 3 year old male is cold nosed and seems to always be able to find a cold track and lets out a big bawl and makes the whole pack hunt that much harder. We were about 100 yard from the truck and he hasnt made a peep yet which doesnt happen often. We worked that field and thick edge out and crossed the road and worked out an old barn foundation which was overgrown and thick. We finally got a couple of cold barks but nothing came of them. So we loaded up and headed down the road to one of the state dove hunting areas. It was laid out alot like the first place. Dropped the dogs and hunted there for an hour or so with no luck either. The rabbits just werent where we were today. A bit depressing but a bad day in the rabbit woods is still better than a good day at work. Thanks for everyones replies thus far which keeps me wanting to give updates. We will be out next saturday to hunt , may head south to eygpt valley to hit a few spots that have produced in the past.

Keep them coming man, I enjoy the hell out of reading them. Better luck next time! Make me wonder if someone wasn't in those areas before you.

We've been skunked before. I dont even care if i shoot any rabbits just as long as i can hear the dogs sing.

That's where I'm at in life lol... If I pull the trigger once every couple weeks I'm fine with that.... Just gotta drop one once in a while to remind them why they're doing it lol

Dont get me wrong i still like shooting and missing, which ivebeen known to do. Lol

I like seeing them run more then me pulling the trigger and when I pass it'll be there the next time I show up lol... Sooner or later they'll be able to out smart the dogs for a while and that's when they'll die lol

We haven't had the greatest luck our last few times out either here lately. Seems like the rabbits haven't been out that great. My shooting hasn't been the greatest either. Lol
