Deer will avoid young pine trees with soap bars (they hate Irish Spring) hanging in old pantie hose off a limb for awhile. That was my experiment until an ice storm and they deer ate all 50 four foot pines I planted that year. Those pines were the only thing green above an inch of ice crust over a foot of snow.

Round # 1... The deer won for the most part. They didn't pay much attention at all. The fawns were all around it this morning. These younger generations just aren't the same like from days gone by....lol. This is right up next to the cabin, so I'll move it up near The Oak & let it sit, until the coons run off with it.

Update..... Just as i figured, with deer coming thru here all the time, some pay attention to the " Stick ", others will not. I never thought they would search for it, but it will attract their attention from time to time when they're already coming thru and make them stop. No different than laying something else out for them. Sometimes they hit on it, other times not. Just like fishing. I did have some bucks here too. They were looking for the does it appeared. It's a fun experiment that proved my curiosity. They certainly don't shy away from the area.

The family groups are coming thru day & night. That's why I took my time shooting that doe. The bucks on the other hand are at night and are far & few inbetween, but nothing nice. Once it gets cold, that may change. I do want to change out the Stick to a different smell, something sweeter like I originally used. I don't know if it'll make any difference , but the fuckery of it is fun. Just bought another tag, so once Christmas is out of the way, we'll see what happens.

I’ve been wanting to do this same idea with the newer synthetic deer piss. See what actually works and doesn’t support the deer farming industry. Just haven’t had the deer traffic to get an accurate reading. You have the perfect place for it! This is fun to follow.
