I was anxiously waiting to read your story and it was well worth it! This was a great read Greg! Felt as though I read an article in my NAW mag, very well done!:smiley_clap:

Congratulations on "ending the streak" buddy and ending it with an exclamation point TOO! What a great buck to do it with! Having Katie's buck next to your buck in your man cave is going to look awesome!

You are a great person and a hard worker who was/is very deserving of this deer. There were several things I observed while reading your story that make it special. Killing a nice buck on your own property or very close by is a very rewarding feeling and having your family there immediately following this special moment is icing on the cake! Too bad ole Jesse wasn't able to be there but IMO, you both will have many more chances to help each other drag slobs out in both of your hunting careers!

Congrats again buddy! You have a great family TOO!

Sorry I am a bit late on this.

1. I feel like I am YOU, i have more screw ups in the woods than you can shake a stick at!
2. I am really happy for you, Ive never met you but I have always enjoyed your posts a lot.
3. I would not say you are a scrub hunter. From you posts I can tell you know your shit, and now you have proven it.

Overall great job, and thanks for always contributing to this forum the way you do. You have taught me stuff and I appreciate it.

BTW cute kid too!

Great buck, great pictures, great write up and all together a great post! Congrats!

My wife is 8 months pregnant and sitting in the stand is hard this year. She is miserable and works all the time and anytime I go play I just feel guilty.

Outstanding job, all around, on everything Greg. The write up was great, loved getting the history of everything leading up to the hunt. The pictures were top notch. The buck as he lays shot, with the light coming down through the trees onto his antlers is amazing. That better find its way into a frame and onto a wall in your man cave. The family picture is priceless too, being able to share that moment is one that you'll have forever. Congrats again on everything buddy. Truly happy for your success this season!

What an inspiring read. I don't know any of the folks on this site but from the sound of it, its one huge family. I have only been hunting for 3 yrs now and only have a small 4 acre piece to hunt on. I have shot at a total of 5 deer since I started hunting. Best guess is that my nerves have gotten the best of me each time. The last deer I shot at was on Tuesday. I had to sit down and shoot from my climber because of a limb. Well the bottom limb of my bow slammed into my climber as I released and threw the shot off. I was definitely bummed about it. Reading this story helps me to realize that it will come in due time, just have to have patience. From what Ive read from your story and others replies to your story, you are a credit to deer hunting in Ohio. Thanks for the positivity in your story. Best of luck to you the rest of the year.

Finally got a chance to read this entire story and one I surely did not want to miss one part of it or just try and read bits here and there. Damn good story and a helluva a buck man. I am so happy for you Greg. You are way overdue for this and knowing you the last few years I knew it was only a matter of time before it all came together.

CONGRATS MAN !!!!!

I will say what others have already said because it is true. You put your time in and are an extremely dedicated Bowhunter. I can't think of a more deserving person to kill a great buck than you. Well done man! I was so happy when I saw you put a good one down. Cherish it and enjoy the high I am sure you are still riding.
