Thermal scopes.

Between myself, son and Dad we run Pulsar and RIX. I have heard bad things about ATN customer service but I do not have one. For around the same price you can get into a Rix L3 or L6 which has digital and optical zoom and add the LRF. We have a L6 with the added LRF and haven't had any issues. The Rix can be ballistic calculated also.
Pulsar XG50 LRF
Pulsar XP 50
Pulsar Duo (thermal and day scope)
Rix L3 & L6 with LRF

Optics planet is running a sale now and you can get a Pulsar XQ50 LRF for $3500

I thought about the Rix L6 but I'm not happy with Rix at the moment lol. They were running an affiliate sign-up a couple months ago. Filled out all required information and NOTHING.
I've looked into the Pulsar Thermion and it seemed a good choice as well. I think the XQ50 is above the price point I want to spend.
I've also heard about the customer service issues with ATN and have heard good things about Pulsar. I haven't heard much about Rix other then my issue with a different department of there company. I'm looking for something that will last a long while because I won't be in the market to get another for a long time lol.

I'm currently running a Sightmark Wraith HD that I got used. The only problem I have had with it is where the external power pack plugs in. It's worn out and sometimes wiggles loose and the scope shuts down. Definitely not good when a follow-up shot is needed lol. Thank you for the feedback. I'll check out some of those Pulsar units and see what I can find.

Understandable about the RIX. I've had the XG 50 for around 5 years now, other than a few firmware updates, which are easily done on the app, I have not had any issues. Good luck with the search, thermal is so much better IMO than IR. The Iray Bolt 35 is a solid unit also. I used one on a hog hunt in Oklahoma last fall and was impressed with it being a lessor cost scope.
Also, there are a few online stores that have slightly used thermals at a discounted cost that still come with warranty.

@Knelly With the sensor being a 384 on that Thermion how clear is it out to 200-300 yards?
My XG 50 is a 640x480 with a 3x base mag. It's plenty clear for out to 300 yds. I have not looked through the XQ 50 (384) but the Iray Bolt 35 that is 384 I used in OK looked to be fine. I wouldn't go too far past 300 yds though.
Here’s a screen shot from the Bolt 35-384. Yardage is around 125-130

Most shots would be the 100-250 yard range. I just wanted to make sure it would be clear enough to make sure it's a yote and not a farm dog.

You'll love the setup. Tony has some great sounds. Look into adding some Bustin Fur audio files also, he's an Ohio boy!
Let me know if you have any questions on the sight in, it's pretty simple.
