Is there a law on this yet? Guys are using them around here I could see this as a huge advantage in flat lands. Find deer, keep from spooking deer see which sections are hot ect...ur thoughts?

Completely legal to my knowledge, although I wouldn't have it on a rifle at night.
Any thoughts if it should be legal? I'm yes and no. It's an extreme!!!! advantage where I live. But if the price of the damn things ever drop I'd do it.
Like j said modern day spotlighting without the light. Around me sq miles can be deerless. Go out before hunting find the deer. Plan how you walk in based on where they are ect. It's something to make deer hunting extremely easier (here)in my opinion
Drones fall into this same line of thinking. I don't see a problem here. Same can be said about using vehicles to help "aid" you in scouting. You can cover a lot of ground driving around looking at deer and making a plan.
I'm cool with them just can't afford the price tag of one good enough to do it. As technology improves just wondering where the line is to be drawn. Are we going to be able to shoot from home or from your phone? I know this is crazy talk but we have come along ways in 20 yrs of deer hunting as far as technology goes.

My buddy has one little hand held thermal. Never used it to scan fields but have used it tracking a deer.

The older generations would honestly not really be that effective. The clarity just isn’t there at distances and in wooded areas basically becomes ineffective. My dad is a big predator hunter. He has had an older generation Flear mono for years it’s enough to tell there is a deer in a field but identifying it is near impossible.
Pa recently legalized thermal scopes for hunting. He just bought a thermal scope and it’s insane the difference in the newer generation. It is still not that great in wooded areas but for fields I would say you could definitely Identify a specific buck with it.
