The updated stryker 380 seems to be a good choice to me. They out shoot the horton and the parker and the ten point.
They have a small and lite frame. And can shoot 37yds with one pin or single red dot scope witch would be good for kids.
I know a lot of people dont like the barnetts, But there are few bows that will out shoot a high end barnett. I have an older barnett preaditor. I dont like its trigger, But i can shoot 45yards with a single red dot scope.
If your kids are bigger, I would consider getting a barnett with the carbon fiber riser. Hard pressed to find a deadlier x bow

There are so many nice crossbows out there it is tough to choose. Styrker, Scorpyd, Parker, Horton, Tenpoint, Excaliber, Barnett, Middleton, Carbon Express, Darton. I've done so much research on these things just reading reviews, and surfing forums reading about them. I have come to the conclusion that most of them are good bows. Well all of them really. Some just better in some areas others aren't, and vice versa. I just need to shoot as many as possible, and see which one meets the best blend of everything for me. Price, Speed, Noise, Weight, Size, Speed, and mainly the way it feels for me. I still want to hear as many of your guys experiences with any of the crossbow brands mentioned. I'm trying to narrow it down as much as I can. I' still got all the ones in mind you mentioned xbow guy. Just waiting on a time I can make a road trip and test out a few.

Besides loving my TenPoint, you might want to keep in mind that their company took a stand on the PA sporting show and bought NRA memberships for their staff.

Just saying.

I have Hunted with a crossbow for 28 years. I used a Horton for the first 24 years and then Upgraded to a Ten Point Phantom CLS. It is pricey, but well worth it! I would have never tried a shot over 25 yards with my Horton. Now I am confident with a 50 yard shot. I like the looks of the Wicked Ridge crossbows, but have no experience with them.

If you have a compound bow now then I would highly recommend a Hickory Creek Bow-Loc. It cost about 180.00 and turns your regular compound bow into a vertical crossbow. It's compact and just as quite as a regular bow.
A simple knurreled cap bolt loosens for a compact carry.
Or pickup a inexpensive coupound bow and install the Bow-Loc.
Plus you shoot regular arrows.

That sounds like good info to me. I'll have to just locate some dealers for alot of the different bows I want to try out. Hopefully some are close. Like I said I liked that parker my cousin had, but it was pretty long, and wide. He said it was a couple years old. I can't even remember what model it was, but it wasn't like there top of the line he said. I did kinda do an OMG to the strykezone. I talked to my cousin again last night on fb. He said his styrkezone has updated limbs.....He said he has owned the original stryker, and then the desert stryker, and now just bought this one. I didn't even know bowtech made them. I have always had bowtech bows, and like them really well, but he said the earlier strykzone 380's had a limb splittering problem, and they corrected it. He said the strykzone 350's didn't have the problem the 380's had, but he said all was good now. I had a tenpoint vapor in my shopping cart yesterday....wasn't really going to buy it. Just had it in there so I could remember which model I had looked at, because I was comparing them. Well the wife was sitting beside me on couch. She seen the $2,000 price, and things kinda went south from there. I'm not buying it for my only weapon of choice, so I guess I'm gonna have to get a less expensive one....lol If I were to sell my bow maybe, but I am keeping my compounds too.
I went to a crossbow last year due to problems with my arm and hands.I will say that i enjoy shooting it and i went with the Excalibur Axiom Package .Around $500 for the package. It is a great bow and very accurate out to 50 yds.I shoot the 150 grain bolt cutter broadheads and the Lumen Arrow bolts by Lumenok as they have a brass insert on the front for added weight.A very good combination.I like the fact that with the recurve limbs if you should damage your string out in the field you can keep an extra string and stringer in your pack and change it in the field not having to go to the archery shop to have them fix it.Your wife might like the price a little better than that 2000 dollar one.
