Anybody tried using any type of throw and grow? I was thinking of trying like a clover or something but I didn't know if I'd be wasting my $ or not...

Clover is a great throw and grow. Best done during winter like Jan-Feb. But I did have great luck last summer on bare new construction dirt. It didn't rain for couple weeks then a good rain. Now it's knee high and 100% covered.
Clover is my #1 crop to draw deer to my property.
Don't expect too much the 1st year but it comes on the 2nd growing season and self spreads.
Good luck.

Throw and grow bags are for show. Spending money on filler type seed. Do the same kind of idea with a good clover and you'll be ahead. It might not turn out picture perfect, but you'll have more food on the ground then in those bags.

Edit:this is mostly what I've learned in here, not a lot of experience with it myself. I planted a couple of small plots a few years ago and they keep coming back just fine.

I've not had much luck with throw and grow. I did try some late spring this year that has come up ok but we tilled the trails to get better seed to ground contact. That, more than anything, is the key.
