Toledo 11 News Crew Interview

I drove up from Lima to the Maumee Tackle Shop to inquire about the river conditions. Mario said to try fishing at Orleans Park area, but to stay on the shore and not wade out, as the current is vicious. As he pointed towards the donation jar for the gentleman we lost this past Monday, he said, "We don't need any more losses. Stay on the bank." (y):)

I noticed the Toledo 11 News crew vehicle pulling in to the tackle shop as I was leaving. Then shortly after I started fishing at Orleans Park, they showed up there and asked if they could interview me on camera about "what I do to stay safe, while fishing".
Basically, I stated to use common sense and remember we all want to go home at the end of the day. I also mentioned how polite and helpful everyone has been during line entanglements, anglers helping others net fish for them, etc. There's a lot of good sportsmanship and camaraderie amongst the anglers. 💯

I spoke with the Superintendent at the Perrysburg Wastewater Treatment plant, while I was there and his assistant was one of the people that helped the man that drowned. He said as soon as they could get him out of the water, he had already turned blue, but they performed CPR on him, until the Rescue Squad arrived. 😢 Prayers to his family!!! 🙏 I put some money in the jar at Maumee Tackle.

Let's catch some fish, but more importantly, let's get home safe to our families! (y)💯
