TOO Garden Thread

Flat 1 in the ground. I picked up a second flat today to plant this weekend. I’m done after that. Sit back and watch the weeds grow.

Finished mine today. Hoping the electric will do the trick. Maters, peppers, cucumbers , squash , zucchini, cantelope, beets , and a row of wild flowers

Two tomato plants and one basil. Will stop to get some habanero and not sure what else.

Got this at Menards for $10. Hooked it up to the drill. Done a fine damn job.

Beautiful day to hit the open area of the garden with the tiller and get the earliest round of seedlings in the ground now that night time lows are going to play nice. Will spread some farm animal compost in a couple of days when I'm due to turn them. Starting to lay out the trellis as they go in.

4x gold fortune peppers

Maters are coming along nicely. 2 of 3 beds are complete with fresh grass clippings and last one will be done after next cutting.

All started seedlings went in last weekend, along with direct beans and more cucumbers. Just got the lower/wet area's final till done, watermelons will go in tomm.

Finally got all that CL mowed up and tilled in out in the patch after 4-5weeks of work, but that tilth is $$! Hoping to have pumpkins in by end of weekend.

It dropped 2.5" quickly this AM, guess watermelons will be a few days.

The native wildflowers are doing well in place of the big garden. The girls are already loving it.

Tied up my 5th level on all my staked maters today and most are at or near the end of the stake so I’ll be lopping off the tops in near future. The 3 early girls have small green maters coming along and the beef steaks are either blossomed out or in the early stages of producing small maters. Been watching a small rabbit looking for an entry hole in fence to get in but the chicken wire wrap is so far doing its job. The first critter breaching the barrier will feel my wrath. Lol

Garden is putting on now! Tomatoes are flying up the poles. Only 68 this year but should be a bumper crop!!

First harvest of maters for me this year. Lefty is Beef Steak and righty is Early Girl. Tons of greens hanging on vine with tons of blossoms too.

Cukes are coming on strong (picked 4 on Saturday, with some of the determinate tomatoes starting to turn. Looking forward to some fresh BLTs!

I was able to get into the pumpkin patch over the weekend to clean up 90%, today's cooler temps will motivate me to finish that this evening.

Pumpkins are popping and getting ready to start flowering, was hoping for a little moisture today to help with the heat.

@Ohiosam, saw the farm update on FB. How many seeds do you guys plant each year and/or approx. how many pumpkins do you guys harvest? It was an impressive view!

Thanks. We grow about 9-10 acres every year. It’s hard to say how many seeds because we grow so many different kinds (about 40-50) and the seeds vary a lot in size. We retail almost everything, most are pick your own. We get pretty good crowds in the fall.
