I shot a grey yesterday that hung on to the limb about 5 seconds before he fell. This is what it looked like where I picked him up. Eley target loads must be the Rage of .22 ammo.

you wouldn't think a little rat could bleed so much so fast, but when they are shot in the head and hang on upside down for 5 or 10 seconds, the blood rains down. usually on the dogs heads. they seem to really like it, lol.

@Jamie I believe said that greys reproduce at a higher rate then fox squirrels. Beyond what J said about getting hunted more for meat. Birds of prey have a better chance at catching the slower/bigger fox squirrel.

Welcome!

Been hunting squirrels with a buddies dog last 2 seasons... Fox squirrels are easy targets as they stay put longer for getting shot at vs greys and blacks, which will take off like scalded cats...

Went squirrel hunting today. Took moonshine out for first time today. Seen two squirrels gray and black at 30 yard but no shot. They were just dang quick and most of tree were in the way, lol. It was much needed to be out in the wood.... therapy time. Rain started to come in so had to call it a day. Will go back out tomorrow to same spot where I seen the squirrels at and see what happens.
