11.5mpg? Ouch. Maybe I'll change my mind on the gasser. Is that the 6.2L? How does it do straight highway driving?

I know your last 10 months has been crazy. But....

I'd also like to see @Dustinb80 comparison numbers as you two enjoy those rides.

She's still doing well, and has just under 20K miles still due to COVID. With buying her in Sept '19, she should have closer to 30-35K by this time. Might be the first time I pass the 3yr mark on a warranty, not mileage😁

The 6.6L is still pulling 15.3mpg hand calculated between tanks, with the DIC showing lifetime average of 14.9 due to the amount of idling for warm up during the winter since she sits outside. Overall, I am still very happy with the buy and while I still miss the Duramax, I dont miss the upkeep. Fuel filters, spin on tranny filters, worrying about fuel gelling, etc. I still haven't given her a bath inside or out yet, looking forward to doing that this summer. I bet there is 5gal worth of sand inside lol.

Ummm, my 6.7 only gets 13.6 average. Cost more at the pump and to maintain.

You know full well that oversized tires, higher profile, etc. all contribute to mpg loss quickly. I would bet $ that Jesse shed 2-3mpg with the aftermarket wheel/tire setup and tread type. Throw in hills........she gone and you don't worry about mpg to a certain degree when driving a 3/4ton gasser.

I always wished the new gen Ford 6.7L's would be the answer to the piss poor mpg of the 6.4L produced.

Quite a few different Ford and GM setups hit our driveway this fall/winter. Most were 3/4-2ton contractor setups with contractor boxes and or a trailer in tow. ALL the 2011+ bitched about mpg while towing. Same conversation you get at campgrounds....emissions are killing these things more and more every year. BEAUTIFUL 2021 GMC LTZ dually pulling 7500lb trailer......9mpg🤮

I lost 2 mpg with the tires and I rarely drive the highway. I'm running 2 lane and dirt a lot up and down these hills. Lots of idle time to with warming it up and working from it. It ran almost 8 hours straight the other day between travel and sitting in it working. With the wi-fi, I often spend 1-2 hours parked with it running a good bit of the time. So that 11.5 is pretty fair given all the variables. I've been told to expect a little bump around 6K after its "broke in", and I just rolled 6, so we'll see if that's true or not. I also drive it like I stole it, so there's that too 😂

Still shopping. Good luck finding regular cab 4x4 trucks anymore. They are like unicorns. Extended cab long bed would suffice. Ram doesn't make one. Ford didn't seem to make a ton of them. Fairly easy to find crew cab short or long bed trucks. Too long for plowing.

I bid on the Auglaize County EMA truck tonight. F350 4x4 extended cab. Rubber floormats, vinyl seat. Just the way I like trucks. 136,000 miles on the 6.2L gasser. I went higher than I should have. I dropped out at $25,510. It brought $26,510. Had previously set my high bid at $23500. Decided a couple grand more was worth it if I didn't have to go look at 10 more pieces of shit the dealers were lying about. Last one at a dealer we looked at appeared to be on the original air filter. Paint chips were repaired with spray paint. Locking hubs wouldn't unlock. They wouldn't budge off $22000.

Seems the next step up is around $30-35k. 5-6yr old truck. May as well buy a new one at these prices.

Save yourself the time and effort and start looking out of state. Florida and Georgia seem to be good bets and truck prices are nowhere near what they are up here. I’m also shopping for a super duty and have a buddy that works down in Florida at walker ford. Did a comparison to an almost identical 16’ f350 from Cambridge truck up here to a same year, same set up, platinum that was the same color and had less miles, my guy in Florida was almost 13 grand cheaper....

Ah come on Phil, you've already bought a Yota, go get a full size and use it like a real truck should be used and give us an honest opinion. I hear they hold their value real well😄

My BIL did a 2 for trade in AZ. Granted he was buying a new F350 SRW Lariat, but he said same thing regarding Ohio prices. This was even after the cost of hauling the 2nd car out there.

If a 3/4 ton could work, you can get into a XL or WT trim for only a few grand more, high 30s/low 40s depending on add on.

I put in a call to the one local Ford salesman my dad used. Several neighbors and business colleagues use this salesman too. He is going to do some digging for me. Not many 2020 left overs. Too late to put in an order for a 2021. Whatever is on the market is what is available. Let's see what he finds.

Did my own searching. Found F350 or Ram 3500 reg cab 4x4 with gas motor under $40k. A couple shown WITH new Boss vee plow for $37861 up in Michigan. That is a $7000 plow. If they will sell it for the advertised price I will buy one of the 2020 Rams. I still have my 2006 F350 to sell, a plow to sell, and one salt spreader to sell. Should be able to slide into it for $20-25k after I sell my stuff off. That would make way more sense than buying a 125,000 mile 5-6 year old truck for ten grand less. Buy once. Cry once.

Jim finally ditched is 2018 Chevy 3500 and bought a ford. The Damn chevy had 18k miles on it when he bought it last year and only has about 45k on it now. The damn thing kept going in limp mode when hauling a load complaining about soot accumulation. He took it to three different chevy dealers in three states and they would just reset the code and drive it around and say its fine. The truck would run fine until he hooked a load on it and bam back in limp mode. He could sometimes keep it from triggering if he put it in manual and ran a high 4th gear. The last time he had to pull over and reset the code 40 times in 50 miles just to get it out of limp mode and to a dealership. The service manuals they have requires them to try a bunch of BS before they can just replace the DEF regen filter or some crap. Well for a man who makes his living on the road with a broke truck in BFE oklahomama that's a bunch of bullshit. Having a DOT number and being subject to inspections he couldn't just delete it. Junk ass Chevy lost another customer for life.

Yup...I will likely never own another. Highly disappointed in our 17' GMC. Damn shame you pay all that money and they won't stand behind it. Hell Toyota replaced old frames, Hyundai replaced old motors but you can get GM to replaced a damn filter. The Honda we just replaced it with was built in Alabama.
