The seller seems like a good guy from our conversations. He says it's a reliable everyday truck. No problems with the tranny, 4x4, or anything else. The engine light is on and he was told it could be an air filter. I did some reading and in 88 they changed the EFI half way through the year to remedy an air/fuel issue. He's not sure if his is an 88 or an 88.5
That could be why the engine light is on. Toyota stayed with the revised EFI system on the 22re for a long time after the 88.5's.
